Flat Plan Of Two Page Spread.

This is the flat plan of my two page spread. The layout will be really similar but the picture in the middle will be different. The writing will go outside the out line of the heart. The colours will again match the front page and the contents page. There might be smaller pictures by the writing.

Flat Plan Of Contents Page.

This is my flat plan of my contents page. The layout will be similar to this as there will be a few pictures of what’s inside. There will be different bullet points on the page saying what’s inside and what page everything is on. There will a website at the bottom of this page. The title will be the same as the front cover. It will be really colourful and bright.

FlatPlan Front Cover

This is my flat plan of my front cover of my music magazine. The title will be at the top of the page in big bold writing so that it will be one of the first things that catch people’s eye and get attention from other magazines, also to represent the club industry. There will be an issue number, date and price at the top of the page above the title. The barcode will be at the bottom of the page on my final magazine. There will be a photo that will fit the size of page on my final cover. There will be a smaller picture of I love techno. The main flash will be about I love techno. There will be smaller writing that says what’s inside the magazine. The colours will be neon and bright.

Deciding on my Font for my Title

These are all the diffrent fonts that i have found on www.da font.com. They are all possibilities that i could use for my main title for the front of my music magazine.



I decided that the best way to choose from all these fonts is to ask the rest of my class and get them to vote for the one they like the most. I asked 25 people to vote. Overall there where 4 main favourites out of the possible 12. Out of the main 4 i have decided to combine two together. This is what i created. I think that this would look really eye catching in big bright colours and it would really stand out! I am going to use this type of front because it looks fun and its a clubbing sort of style font. I have choosen to put two fonts together becuse the S in that style looks much more effective and makes the whole title stand out more! I choose diffrent font for the S so that it could make the whole title look more like the style of the magazine, as the S design is quite club like.

Analysis Of Another Music Magazine Front Cover

The title Mix Mag could aim that the magazine is for both woman and men and it is also a mix of different things. It could also represent the mix of different people, meaning that different people like different things and there is a mixed opinion on music. I think that Mix Mag is a good name or this genre because it is inviting all different people from all over the country who like the same music. The use of font is modern, the sub flash is quite large so that it stands out and the subheadings are not so big but can still be still be read. The use of colour is much brighter than the other magazine front cover. It is bright so that it draws attention and also if the front cover looks happy and bright the audience would think the whole magazine or music is happy and bright too, as it represents the whole magazine and the music it is presenting. The use of Language is formal but again as it is a magazine for people who go clubbing the language used throughout the whole magazine some knowledge of clubbing or DJs would be needed because that is what the whole magazine is about. The target audience is people who are interested mainly in clubbing music, house music and chill out. The magazine could be for People who are interested in going clubbing in Ibiza. As there is Ibiza written as a sub flash and it is the text that stands out the most after the Main heading so people who have been there or are going there would be interested in reading the magazine just because there is Ibiza on the front cover and it is a famous name, so it also shows that the magazine is up to date with what’s going on. The target audience is for anyone, any age and any class. The image on the front cover suggests that there will be woman is very small bikinis in clubs and in the places there are major clubs e.g. Ibiza. For men this is a good image to have because obviously they would want to read the magazine as there is a half naked fit girl on the front, and they would want to go to the places that the magazine promotes as the images suggests there will be girls in the places the magazine says. For woman its is a good picture to have on the front because they might want to look like the model, however some people could mistake the magazine to just be for men as the model is half naked. Her pose is quite sexy as for men it could be inviting. I think that the model on the front cover would change to fit the title of the magazine Mix Mag. The main sells are the half naked woman on the front, the big Ibiza 08, Paul van dyke who is a well know DJ, N.E.R.D. who are also a well known band and the change to find out about all the different cubs. The information that is presented on the front cover there is a barcode and there is also a price and date of when the magazine was issued. Both of these are above the barcode. The types of stories that are in the main flash are Ibiza 08, top DJs, new clubs and mainly what’s going on in the club world. Overall I think that the magazine has good structure and layout and I like the presentation of the front cover. I would like to do something similar on my music cover.

Two Page Spread Analysis

As I looked through the magazine to choose a two page spread, this was the one that caught my eye the most and pulled in my attention. It caught my eye because it looks really fun and I would love to be there having so much fun, I think it is extremely appealing to have pictures of people who are having fun because the people who this magazine targets are the people who like to go clubbing and just be seeing these pictures I automatically want to be there. I really like the large picture at the top; I think that it catches attention really well. I would like to have a large picture on my two page spread so that it catches attention and draws people in to read more. Overall I think that there is too much writing and I think there should be more colour and there should be a bigger newsflash and then a few subheadings they could bullet point the main points of what was going to be read. The font is ordinary and small, for my magazine it will represent what the magazine is about and what it is like. The use of colour isn’t very attractive; I would personally want it to be really bright and fun looking. The whole use of language is formal and but it assumes knowledge of the subject. The main sells of this two page spread are the pictures I think because they are the first thing that catches the reader’s eye and because it is inviting and it making you as a reader want to be there. The overall layout is again plain and simple but is quite effective as it attracted me I think it would attract other people who are interested in this type of music genre.

Analysis Of Contents Page

Overall when I first looked at the contents page I thought that it looked pretty boring and not very inviting but I think it just came across as being a club type genre and because of this I assumed that it would be quite bright big and bold but I guess not. I personally don’t like the contents page and believe it should be more inviting and bright to pull people in more. There is some colour but it’s not that bright, I think the magazine creators decided to approach it with a more sutle feel. I like the face one half of the page is black and the other has colour I think that is a good design. I like all the pictures because they look fun and inviting and I think they would all appeal to the targeting audience. All the subheadings don’t really seem to catch my eye because they aren’t bright or bold enough. I like the format and layout of the whole page again because it’s pretty simple and it’s easy to find what you want to read and skip to the page that it’s on. Some of the subheadings look interesting and I would want to read them personally. For my own contents page I am going to make it bright, big and bold I would like to put some pictures that look fun and exciting to the audience.

Analysis of Music Front Cover

This Magazine is based on club music and it is represented for DJs. The Title is DJs because the whole magazine is for DJs, people who like DJs and also for people who go clubbing. I think it is a good title for this type of magazine because it clearly states the genre and who it is aimed at. The whole use of font is pretty bold and modern. Most of the font is quite small except the masthead ‘DJs’ which is a different colour and is bold so that it stands out and newsflash Born ‘Again’ the same colour as the rest of the writing but a larger font size and the subheading is the smallest as is the rest of the writing. The whole use of colour is not very bright but does catch attention. The simplicity of the colours, red yellow black and white are pretty formal colours and they suggest the magazine is for both sexes as the colours are nether feminine nor masculine. I think it is good that it is for both sexes because then the magazine can be for everyone and is not aimed at just one group of people. The whole use of language is formal but it does assume knowledge of the subject area, but I don’t think that anyone would want this magazine if they didn’t like this type of genre and I think the people who buy this magazine would have knowledge of the DJs, Clubs and Dance Music. The target audience is I think mostly for 18s and over as you have to be 18 to go to many of these clubs and bars but not always as some clubs it is 16 and over, therefore I think the age that is suited for this magazine is 16 and over. The magazine is for both genders. Any class of people are suited for this magazine, mainly I believe working class and young adults, it could well be for middle and upper teenagers if they like to party or are interested in being a DJ or even just interested in this type of music. The magazine is for any nationality but the whole text in this magazine is in English so the people who buy this type of magazine would have to be able to speak or understand English. The front cover used in this magazine is of a DJ called Josh Gabriel, he to some people is a well knows DJ and this is why he is represented on the front cover and buy him being there it also promotes his work and gets him well known. Inside the magazine there is a three page spread of him and his new work. The image is posed and I think that it could represent him setting someone free as the dove is white it shows love and peace and him letting go of the dove shows him setting freedom, the image could show people that his what his work is about; setting release and freedom and peace to people who listen to his music. On the other hand the background of the image is the total opposite as it looks dark and gloomy and quite spooky. This could show the darker side of his music. I think that the gender of the person on the front cover would be different gender so that the magazine could be represented by both genders. The main sell of this front cover is the DJ, the thought of winning a New Year’s Eve set at the warehouse project, as this could appeal to the buyers of the magazine. The free techno album and dubstep mix mostly overall wanting to know the events and parties that have gone on and what there is in the future and the gossip of the clubs. There is a barcode on the bottom right of the front page and the price is shown on top of the barcode in small font. There is also a date and what issue the magazine is. This again is on top of the barcode in small print. The main flash stories on this magazine are mostly of all the different events that have gone on or are coming up or of new music, clubs or DJs. Overall I like the layout because it is simple and a easy design and I like the fact that there is not too much detail on the front cover, there is just the important points of what’s inside the magazine, this makes the reader want to know more and look inside. For my Front cover I would like to use a full length picture of me and my friends dressed up at a club, and I would like the layout to be similar to this one.
